Unlike other drone companies, Terravata is a locally-owned and operated business out of Idaho's Treasure Valley. The founders did not set out to build a full-service drone company, but rather were in the business of finding solutions for other business owners. Bo Isham of Ag Idaho, an agricultural consulting company, recognized the vast opportunities and applications of drone technology in agriculture. He found himself often recommending drone solutions to his growers and customers to enhance their crop yields. He saw that there was a demand for a service his growers could benefit from and decided to find a solution.​

Bo and his cousin, an experienced drone pilot, along with another local drone pilot came together and became Terravata. With backgrounds in agriculture, tech, and drone piloting, these three were well-versed in the industry offerings and now are guided by their desire to help business owners in many industries reach new heights of success through drone technologies.
